Ronaldo needs two goals for Real century

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo will hit his century for the club on Wednesday if he scores two goals against Villarreal at the Bernabeu.

Marca.com reports that Ronaldo has scored 98 goals in all competitions since his arrival from Manchester United in 2009.

It has taken the Portuguese 102 games, or 8,634 minutes of football to reach the 98-goal mark and a brace against Villarreal will see him hit 100.

Ronaldo has scored 76 in La Liga seven less than the great Brazilian forward Ronaldo who hit 83 during his time at the Spanish club.

The 26-year-old has netted 14 times in the Champions League, and there have been seven goals in the Copa del Rey and one in the Supercopa. His goals per game ratio is 0.96.

Ronaldo s feat is astonishing compared to…

Mazzarri refuses to set Inter targets

Walter Mazzarri is happy with how Inter s pre-season is shaping up but refused to set his side specific targets for the coming campaign.

The Serie A side defeated Real Madrid on penalties in their opening International Champions Cup fixture in California on Tuesday, after a 1-1 draw.

Since winning a treble of the league title, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League in 2010, Inter have struggled to replicate those feats and finished fifth, 42 points adrift of winners Juventus, in Serie A last season.

Mazzarri is determined to restore Inter to past glories but stopped short of predicting what the club can achieve this term.

At this moment of the year we can t decide on our target for next season, he said. But it s clear that when you coach a team like Inte…

Italy 1-0 Scotland: Pelle strike settles tense friendly

Graziano Pelle s fine second-half strike gave Italy a narrow 1-0 win over Scotland in a Euro 2016 warm-up friendly on Sunday evening.
Antonio Conte s men had not won since their qualifying campaign drew to a close, with defeats to Belgium and Germany, either side of draws with Romania and Spain, depriving them of the chance to build any momentum.
The Euro 2012 runners-up never looked like losing in Malta, but their inability to convert promising opportunities during the first half was a concern.
However, Southampton striker Pelle produced an accomplished finish 12 minutes into the second half to clinch a welcome victory for Italy, who face Finland in their last pre-tournament friendly and will name their final 23-man Euro 2016 squad this week.

Scotland failed to register a…

K. League Preview: In-form Jeonbuk out to increase advantage

Jeonbuk Motors can extend their lead atop the K. League Classic table when they host Seoul on Saturday.

It has been neck-and-neck at the summit in South Korea s top-tier football competition but Jeonbuk s 2-0 win at second-placed Pohang Steelers in round 21 last week created a four-point buffer for Choi Kang-hee s men.

K. League top goalscorer Dong-Gook Lee was on target in the victory taking his season tally to 10 goals.

It was the most important game this year, the 35-year-old striker said.

We were able to beat Pohang because of the players will.

Jeonbuk the in-form team of the competition have won four league games in succession, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Factoring in draws, Jeonbuk are in the midst of a 10-match unb…

Ambition and desire outweigh age, says Spain striker Villa

David Villa is determined to vindicate his international recall by proving age is no hindrance in Spain s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 35-year-old earned a shock recalled to Julen Lopetegui s squad for the matches against Italy and Liechtenstein having not represented the national team since the 2014 World Cup.

Villa is in his third season in Major League Soccer with New York City FC, topping the scoring charts this term with 19 goals in 25 games.

His form has proven too tough to ignore and the ex-Barcelona striker is adamant he still has plenty to offer.

It is all down to how you look at things and I do not consider my age but how I feel, my ambition and the desire around me to continue competing, Villa told Marca.

All I can say is that I…

With my head in the noose, they went behind my back – Van Gaal still furious with United

Louis van Gaal has accused Manchester United of going behind his back to sack him as manager and appoint Jose Mourinho.

The 66-year-old, who replaced David Moyes in 2014, was dismissed last May just two days after guiding United to their first FA Cup triumph since 2004.

The former Netherlands head coach has slammed the club for the way in which they dispensed with his services before officially naming Mourinho as his successor four days later.

The pressure was enormous, with my head in the noose, and they went right behind my back, he told Algemeen Dagblad.  I think it was all orchestrated like a film and it was done very much behind my back right from January.

I do understand that choice of United to get Mourinho. Suddenly, Mourinho was out after on…

Marvel’s Wolverine Developer Will Share News “When the Time is Right”

With Silent Hill 2 remake, the next Astro Bot and now Concord rumored for the yet-to-be-announced PlayStation Showcase, perhaps Marvel’s Wolverine may appear. However, a new tweet from Insomniac Games has curtailed any expectations.

After the developer posted about Ratchet and Clank on Twitter, one user asked about Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac responded, “We’ll share news when the time is right, and the right time isn’t now.”

Of course, details on the title are already out due to a ransomware attack last December that leaked over 1.3 million files. An internal presentation indicated a late 2026 launch, followed by Marvel’s X-Men in 2030 and its sequel in 2033.…

No Man’s Sky’s Recent Update Seemingly Added PS5 Pro Support – Rumour

Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky recently saw the release of yet another major free update, dubbed Worlds Part 1, and though the focus of the update is on a massive overhaul of planets, a new Expedition, new creatures, and more, it seems like it secretly also added support for the long-rumoured PS5 Pro.

Spotted by dataminer @bomber_that on Twitter, the update seems to include a new graphics preset for “Trinity”, which, as per prior leaks, is the codename under which the PS5 Pro has been in development. The strings in the datamined leak suggest that the upgrades that have been implemented in the game for the console aren’t especially hefty, though of course, there’s nothing to say that this is final by any means, especially given …
