Craig James's hopeless and hopelessly silly Senate campaign has finally borne some interesting fruit: his financial disclosure reports, through which we can learn how much money he made being the biggest embarrassment at ESPN (at least on days Lynn Hoppes wasn't working). And, wow, apparently it's good work being awful on television. According to the disclosure—which we've embedded at the bottom of the post—James made $416,000 in 2010 from ESPN/ABC, for which he called college football games. In 2011, he made $288,817. James's spokeswoman told The Dallas Morning News that his ESPN/ABC salary dropped last year "because he resigned early to run for the Senate." Poor guy. And how is James doing in the race? Depending on the poll, James is projected to bring home anywhere between 2 and 4 percent of the vote in the primary (a mere 40 points behind the leader, David Dewhurst). And there are signs that James is aware his campaign is crashing. According to campaign filings, James donated $750,000 to his campaign earlier this year. But in the last few weeks, James has repaid himself $450,000 from his campaign funds. Cashing out while he can? His campaign will come to a close on May 29, when the Texas primary takes place and James's political career gets locked in a shed. Ander Herrera was one of 36 players cleared of sporting corruption by a Spanish court on Monday.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Herrera, along with Leganes coach Javier Aguirre and ex-Atletico Madrid captain Gabi, were investigated on suspicion of match-fixing in relation to a LaLiga meeting between Levante and Real Zaragoza in the 2010-11 campaign.
Zaragoza won the match to keep their place in the top flight, though they were then accused of paying Levante players €965,000 to lose the game.
However, all 41 people who stood trial have been cleared of the charges, with a Valencian court citing a lack of evidence, though two former Zaragoza officials were convicted of fraud.

Roma have confirmed Daniele De Rossi will leave the club at the end of the season but say he has no plans to hang up his boots just yet.
The 35-year-old s contract will not be renewed, ending a 19-year association with his hometown club.
After joining the club s youth ranks in 2000 from Ostia Mare, he has gone on to make 615 appearances for the senior side, scoring 63 goals. Only Francesco Totti has made more appearances for the Giallorossi.
De Rossi has made just 14 Serie A starts for sixth-placed Roma this season and the club have confirmed his last game will be against Parma on May 26.
Roma president James Pallotta told the club s website: For 18 years, Daniele has been the beating heart of AS Roma s team.

Gareth Southgate will stay on as England manager through Euro 2024, ending speculation over his future following the Three Lions quarter-final exit from the World Cup.
Southgate, who took charge of England in 2016, saw his side eliminated at Qatar 2022 after a 2-1 loss to France in the last eight.
Having previously led England to a semi-final finish at Russia 2018 and the final of Euro 2020, speculation had been rife over whether Southgate would step away from the role.
The 52-year-old said immediately after the France game he would take some time to consider his future.
But the Football Association has now confirmed Southgate will remain in his post for the European Championship in Germany in 18 months time.

A 3-1 defeat to fierce rivals Liverpool on Sunday proved to be the final nail in Jose Mourinho s Manchester United coffin. Less than 48 hours later, the Premier League club announced his departure.
The timing of the decision was unexpected, even if United s dismal season meant there was an inevitability about his exit, and it leaves the Portuguese at a crossroads in his career.
Once one of the most revered managers in world football, Mourinho s standing has taken a major hit after being sacked by Chelsea three years ago and now cast aside by United, who are languishing in sixth place in the table, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool after 17 games.
So where next for Mourinho? We take a look at some of the potential options for a man with league titles i…
Roy Hodgson has stepped down as Crystal Palace manager hours before their Premier League meeting with Everton.
A Palace statement also confirmed the 76-year-old, who was hospitalised after falling ill during a training session on Thursday, was “out of hospital and doing well”.
Hodgson’s right-hand man Ray Lewington and assistant manager Paddy McCarthy will lead the team on Monday at Goodison Park, with strong suggestions ex-Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner will imminently take over the struggling south London side.
Hodgson, in a statement released by the club, said: “This club is very special and means so much to me and has played a big part in my footballing life. I have fully enjoyed my time here across six seasons, as it has given me the chance …
Real Madrid hero Rodrygo Goes acknowledged his stunning cameo against Manchester City was his best version of himself in the Champions League as he led the 13-time European champions into the final.
Rodrygo had scored a vital goal against Chelsea in the quarter-finals and was required for another rescue act in the last four.
Madrid were still 4-3 behind on aggregate when the winger was introduced from the bench with 22 minutes remaining in the second leg, only for Riyad Mahrez s strike to then put Carlo Ancelotti s men two behind.
It appeared a lost cause, but Madrid do not deal in such defeatism – at least not this season and certainly not in this competition.
Rodrygo steered in from Karim Benzema s cutback with less than a minute of normal time to pl…
A goalless draw with Dijon means Lyon are enduring their worst Ligue 1 run of form in terms of wins since 1977.
Les Gones have drawn four and lost four of their past eight league games, marking the first time in 42 years they have gone such a stretch without a win in the same season.
Lyon managed 24 shots to Dijon s six on Saturday but could not find a breakthrough, meaning they are just a point above the bottom three after 10 matches this term.
Since a 6-0 thrashing of Angers on August 16, their only victory in any competition was the surprise 2-0 away defeat of RB Leipzig in the Champions League on October 2.
A 1-0 loss to rivals Saint-Etienne led to the departure of head coach Sylvinho, with Rudi Garcia named as his replacement on Monday.

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta claimed he is the man best placed to persuade Lionel Messi to stay at Camp Nou.
Messi is out of contract at the end of the season and the Argentine s long-term future with Barca remains unclear.
The 33-year-old sent shockwaves through the world of football when he expressed a desire to end his near two-decade association with the Blaugrana ahead of the 2020-21 season, but after a lengthy transfer saga he opted to stay put.
An end to the tenure of Josep Maria Bartomeu – with whom Messi has had a tense relationship – as president in October has prompted the club to bring forward their elections to January 24.
Laporta, who served as Barca president between 2003 and 2010, is considered the leading candidate to…
