data-mm-id=”_nmrdmo0su”>The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are about a month away and we're starting to get a clearer picture of what the games will look like. CNN's Selina Wang walked through the Olympic Village and shared some images of the usual dorm room accomodations. This year, of course, they feature all the COVID protocol rooms that look like the last thing you see before the protagonist in the movie breaks free to go find his family.CNN's @SelinaWangTV takes a look at Tokyo's Olympic Village, a city within a city where elite athletes will spend their time when they're not competing for Olympic gold: https://t.co/7d4furEcli pic.twitter.com/C5QaJF495q— CNN (@CNN) June 21, 2021You do not want to test positive at the Olympics. And yet organizers still have athletes sharing tiny rooms against the wishes of medical experts. Just like they've decided to allow 50 percent capacity crowds at events. Those are all local fans as foreign fans have been banned. (Which never would have happened at the Florida Olympics.)In this Australian news report they explain how fans will have to wear masks and won't be allowed to shout. Instead fans are encouraged to clap. Snapping is probably also allowed if you'd like to think about the Olympics as a coffee house performance. Tokyo 2020 organisers have announced local fans will be permitted to attend next month’s Olympics – but they won’t be allowed to shout. @JoelDry7 https://t.co/Jst0zDWk9F #TheLatest #7NEWS pic.twitter.com/0s8jLo26Ub— 7NEWS Australia (@7NewsAustralia) June 21, 2021Then there are the protestors. The people who think that inviting hundreds of countries to send people into the heart of a city for some games in the middle of a global pandemic is a bad idea. Honestly, none of this sounds fun. If you didn't like what the NBA did at Disney World, you're going to hate the going-through-the-motions-ness of the Olympics where the IOC just tries to collect that TV money and Japan tries to justify the $15.4 billion it cost to put on these games. I think the time has come to consider if the Olympics are even worth the trouble. Not just this year, but 2024 and beyond. The way the IOC does things. The ability of each sport to just host their own Olympic event at preexisting venues and the sheer number of channels that exist to show these games is much more economical. I know it will never happen, but it should. Just wait until the final bills start rolling in for Paris in '24 and Los Angeles in '28. Civic pride is great, but the afterglow doesn't seem to last.

Erik ten Hag says Jadon Sancho’s progress and potential is one of the reasons Manchester United have a “good base” to kick on from next season.
The 23-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 in a £73million deal following a prolonged pursuit.
Sancho has shown flashes of his outstanding talent but has yet to fully live up to the billing, with the United winger falling out of the England reckoning as a result.
Ten Hag has worked carefully with Sancho, who went on an individual winter fitness programme in the Netherlands rather than travel to the squad’s World Cup camp in Spain.

Gary O’Neil painted a bleak picture of the situation at Wolves and admitted “no magic wand” will fix their problems after a 3-2 loss at Ipswich in the Carabao Cup third round.
Wolves slumped to a fifth defeat in eight matches under the former Bournemouth manager, who only took over on August 9 following the departure of Julen Lopetegui by mutual consent.
O’Neil made 10 changes for the Portman Road clash and despite taking a 2-0 lead via goals by Hwang Hee-chan and Toti, the Premier League outfit were on the end of an upset after Championship high-flyers Ipswich responded through Omari Hutchinson, Freddie Ladapo and Jack Taylor.

New York Red Bulls v Vancouver Whitecaps: Facing Eastern Conference teams ‘like going to the casino’
Vanni Sartini is anticipating a tight encounter when his Vancouver Whitecaps team face the New York Red Bulls.
Vancouver have enjoyed a fine start to the MLS season and sit second in the Western Conference.
The Red Bulls, meanwhile, are in second place in the East.
This game will be the first meeting of the teams since 2019, and Sartini joked that facing sides from a different Conference is akin to a trip to a casino.
He said: “It’s going to be hard. It’s like going to the casino when you play the Eastern teams – you never know!
“Maybe you’ll face the team in last, the team that’s in first place. Unfortunately this season we’re going to play the Red Bulls, who are doing very well.”

Josh Wolff remains optimistic that Austin FC can improve on their play in the final third when they face Real Salt Lake in MLS on Saturday.
Wolff is under some pressure with Austin failing to win any of their last four league matches, scoring just two goals in that run.
